Bear Mountain State Park is a 5,000+ acre park located in Bear Mountain, NY, on the west side of the Hudson River. The park has a handful of mountains and trails, including Bear, West, Dunderberg, Popolopen Torne. Bear Mountain is popular, even in the winter when there's an inch or two of snow on the ground.

Luther Forest is located in the technology park area of Luther Forest, in Malta, NY, nearby my home town of Burnt Hills. The Luther Forest trails are a popular spot for local mountain biking, running and hiking. Also, as you can see from the photos, they serve as a great set of trails for snowshoeing in the winter time.

Beacon, NY is a great little town with a ton of hiking trails in the Mt. Beacon Park area. Easy walk from town and a fun, challenging hike through miles of trails. I hiked this first with my family over a year ago and then recently hiked Fishkill Ridge to Beacon Summit. Copperas Pond is one of thousands of small bodies of water tucked in between the beautiful mountains of the Adirondacks. The High Peaks region of the Adirondacks is home to some of the most beautiful mountains, lakes, ponds, and towns in New York. Lake Placid is not only historic to New York and the United States, but holds a special place in my heart as somewhere I grew up visiting from early in my childhood and do still to this day as many times as I possibly can.

Anthony's Nose is another quite-frequented mountain hike among New Yorkers coming from the city, and for good reason. It is a relatively moderate hike in terms of difficulty, and has great views of the Hudson River with a great lookout over the Bear Mountain bridge.
